Liquid Process Tanks

Application-specific Tanks, Engineered for Process-specific Integration and Performance

NBE bulk liquid handling tanks are engineered and built to application-specific requirements to ensure efficient, reliable integration and long-term contribution to processing and production performance. Regardless of capacity or complexity, batch or continuous operation; whether upstream storage, midstream blending, or downstream conditioning, NBE engineered-to-application bulk liquid tanks deliver the exact feature sets and in-use benefits that off-the-shelf, stock tanks leave behind. Gain the confidence and fullstream integration advantages engineered into NBE tanks for fluid processing and production.

Application Selections

NBE liquid handling tanks deliver designed performance at start-up. The engineered-to-application project execution behind NBE bulk liquid handling tanks includes functional feasibility testing, PFDs and PF&IDs to detail process integration deliverables; controls automation, fullstream project integration, installation supervision and commissioning; and constructive, proactive project management. From complex reactor tank systems requiring precise temperature control and transfer of volatile contents, to storage or blending tanks for liquid processing or conditioning, NBE bulk liquid tanks are engineered and constructed to ensure efficient start-up and optimal, long-term process performance.

Tank Applications

  • Slurry Blending Tanks: Engineered to process-specific requirements to ensure reliable integration with upstream ingredients supply and downstream process operations; NBE slurry blending tanks produce homogeneous slurries, at accurate concentrations, while maintaining designed throughput rates.
  • Flash Blending Tanks: For applications where process rates require quick wet out of dry ingredients and fast and homogeneous mixing of dry and liquid ingredients, NBE flash blending tanks combine application-specific tank design with engineered liquid mixing technology to deliver increased product throughput.
  • Blending Tanks: NBE blending tanks are designed to provide accurate, repeatable performance to production facilities mixing dry and liquid ingredients in either batch or continuous processes. NBE controls automation and process integration capabilities combine to ensure precise supply of homogeneous product to downstream process operations.
  • Process Holding Tanks: Functioning as the primary source of liquid ingredients to production processes, NBE liquid holding tanks are engineered to simply and efficiently receive liquid product from external sources, maintain the required characteristics of the liquid, and provide accurately metered supply to downstream processes.
  • Processing Tanks: NBE liquid processing tanks are engineered-to-application to ensure exceptional in-use performance and optimal total-cost-of-ownership. Regardless of application complexities or process integration requirements, NBE processing tanks ship fully plumbed, wired, tested and start-up ready; including structures, pumps, valving, mixers, controls automation and process monitoring.
  • Reaction Tanks: For liquid handling applications requiring particular chemical reactions to produce specific finished liquid products, NBE provides application-specific engineering and construction of bulk liquid reaction tanks, as well as the fullstream process integration and automation, to ensure accurate, consistent material input, reaction, and output to downstream operations.
  • Melting Tanks: NBE melt tanks are specifically engineered to provide efficient integration with upstream liquid and solid ingredient supply sources. To ensure consistent and accurate temperature levels, NBE melting tanks are jacketed and insulated; depending on process requirements. Internal mixing systems maintain product characteristics; system pumps, piping, valves, and automation deliver high-yield throughput to downstream equipment.

Tank Bottom Designs

  • Cone Bottom: For applications where thorough discharge of the liquid from the tank is necessary, and where discharged liquids may have a high solids concentration. The cone- or funnel-shaped bottom aids material flow to the discharge point at the center, lowest point of the tank cone bottom. NBE will form the tank cone-bottom angle to the specific performance requirements of each application.
  • Dish Bottom: For applications where efficient mixing of the liquid contents is necessary, and where tank strength and rigidity are application requirements. The dish bottom enables more effective circulation of liquids and solids during mixing. The bottom-center drain provides for thorough material discharge.
  • Internal, Sloped Bottom: For applications where more frequent draining of the tank is necessary, and where tank-bottom access or tank stack-up height is limited. Designed for use with free-flowing liquids and flowable suspensions, the internal, sloped bottom directs liquid to the discharge; simplifying draining, changeovers, and cleaning.
  • Flat Bottom: For applications where complete material discharge is less frequent, and where storage of process liquids is necessary. The neutral shape of the flat-bottom tank provides an effective geometry for mixing liquids and maintaining suspensions.
