Ceramic backed elbows are coated on the exterior radius of the el with approximately 1/4" of ceramic compound. The ceramic coated el is then wrapped to maintain desired hoop strength.

Ceramic Lined
Ceramic lined elbows have a uniform interior ceramic coating that is within .008-.012" thick. This smooth durable lining will increase the life of your material conveying elbow.
